A Brand Campaign for BBC Good Food Magazine
Engaging consumers in the Bertolli Spread Olive D'Oro Awards
When BBC Good Food Magazine partnered with Bertolli to search for the finest Italian delis and trattorias in the UK they decided to put it to the vote, asking Good Food Magazine readers to nominate and vote for their favourites. We worked alongside TAGM on the digital production of this campaign, which was to help launch the Bertolli Spread Olive D'Oro Awards.
We built the beautifully designed microsite that was at the heart of this campaign, enabling users to read about the history of Italian food in the UK, find out more about Bertolli Spread and most importantly nominate and vote for their local Italian deli or trattoria. The elegant mechanic for this meant that users could search and vote for their local deli using addresses or postcodes.
Built to perform
We used a range of techniques to make this work, including geolocation based search technology, HTML 5 and CSS 3. Careful cross-browser testing meant that the site worked across a very wide range of devices – helping Bertolli to engage with as wide an audience as possible.
The campaign exceeded expectations, over delivering on the target level of participation. Whilst competition rules meant that we couldn't vote, we were proud to play our part in supporting local Italian delis and trattorias up and down the country.
